Sempe
Sempe was born on August 17, 1932 in Bordeaux. At the age of eighteen, he went up to Paris and scourred the newsrooms and, in 1951, he sold his first drawing to Sud-Ouest. His meeting with Goscinny coincided with the beginning of a dazzling career as a "press cartoonist". A rare French cartoonist to illustrate the covers of the very prestigious The New Yorker, today he makes thousands of readers smile in Paris Match. Martine Gossieaux, whose Parisian gallery is dedicated to comic drawing, is Sempe's agent.
