Louis Spirinx was a prominent 18thC Paris engraver in the 18th century. Spirinx was a key figure in development of mapmaking during this period. Spirinx mentored renowned cartographer Nicolas de Fer from age 12. de Fer was appointed Royal Cartographer to the court of King Louis XIV. The original map was not made in the usual copperplate print. It looked to be hand drawn. Our replica is the result of that hand drawn original, using a familiar color palette. 8cm Terrestrial Globe with hand-turned mahogany handle and finials.
