Product description
This astrolabe is a reproduction of the Nautical Astrolabe of Dundee.Navigants from Columbus time used this marine astrolabe to find their position by measuring the altitude of the Sun and other stars to calculate the latitude. This marine astrolabe, made by the Portuguese, is dated between 1550 - 1555, and can now be found in the Art Gallery and Museum of Dundee.
