Reda Amalou

Reda Amalou is a french designer and architect. With AW2, the architecture agency he founded over 20 years ago, Reda Amalou has always chosen to approach architecture as a total design experience. His passion for design had always existed alongside architecture, and as such it was a natural move when in 2013, he created his own furniture and accessories brand, REDA AMALOU DESIGN. Coming from both a French and Algerian culture, Reda went on to study architecture in London. Travel has always been a fundamental inspiration for him, both through its diversity and its ability to surprise every time. His work reflects the array of cultural influences, he has discovered during his travels. His design mixes sources of inspiration and forms to find the most direct and intuitive evocation whilst preserving the integrity of the initial idea. The collections are a perfect echo of Reda Amalou’s architectural work. Inspired by the aesthetic sensibilities of the 20th century, he designs each piece with a combination of elegance, sobriety and identity. The materials he uses are rich, textured and vibrant, such as leather, bronze, glass, wood and eggshell. Beyond the main collection, some exceptional pieces are made with specialised craftsmen. They form part of the Collection Gallery in limited editions of 8 signed copies and 4 artist proofs. Reda Amalou also collaborates with a number of luxury design brands such as Véronèse, Baguès Paris, Hugues Chevalier, Toulemonde Bochart and Roche Bobois, with whom he regularly creates pieces or unique collections.
