Fins have always been a part of island life. Owen Churchill, who patented fins in 1940, was inspired by a group of natives from Tahiti who would weave small mats from palm fronds that they would dip into a tub of hot tar which, when cooled, they would tie to their feet to swim and free drive into the ocean. The Stonesets Fin table is a contemporary nod to the beautiful beach areas and inhabitants of Cebu, the Philippines Queen City of the South, where Stonesets is located.
