This unique pyrogen is a reproduction of those found throughout Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. First, the upper cylindrical container was used to hold matches. Then the ridged surface on the side (or the base) was used to strike and ignite the match. And finally, the play served as an advertising medium. Does not work with regular matches. (100 “knock everywhere” matches included)
