Eri silk collections, peace silk. Wild silk extracted from the cocoon of the Cynthia Riccini butterfly. Its large cocoon, whose colors range from white to golden red, is naturally opened by the caterpillar to facilitate its metamorphosis; the silk is therefore harvested non-violently, without killing the chrysalis, then spun and woven like wool. This “peace” silk is used by Buddhist monks in India, Bhutan, Nepal and China.
