Congklak (or congkak) is a mancala game played in Indonesia (on the island of Borneo), Singapore and Peninsular Malaysia. Variations are played in Indonesia (Java), Sri Lanka, the Maldives, southern Thailand, the Philippines and the Mariana Islands. These variants are called tchonka, naranj, dakon or even sungka. In Indonesia, the word congklak means shell and the pieces used are. On Java, where the dakon variant is played, small red seeds are used.
