Product description

If we could bring in the essence of Japan in a piece of furniture, the Shinto shrine would be the answer. The architectural vocabulary of the Edo period comes in the form of a red polished Tori gate, a symbol of entering the spiritual realm. The slant stepped base represents Japan’s mountainous terrain. It also resembles the way samurais used to bow in front of the Shogun. Special attention to joinery detailing custom made for this piece is seen in the hind legs of the table. Everything except for the glass is made in Japanese joinery techniques & finished in a graceful French polish.
