The lampshade is in cast tin. The interior is made of Japanese rice paper, with a rose-gold leaf pattern. The base is in Indian rosewood, covered with a copper plate and a chamfered copper pedestal. The tin print is made on rough sawn wood, retaining its striations and irregularities. This pattern plays wonderfully with light, offering many shimmers depending on the orientation of the source. I took inspiration from the architectural repertoire to compose the lamp: base-column entablature.
