Minoyaki porcelain, renowned for its high quality, is produced in the Japanese province of Mino (Gifu Prefecture, central Japan), mainly in the cities of Tajimi, Toki, Mizunami and Kani. Its appearance dates from the 7th century and firing was then done in ovens dug into the mountainside. It is the most popular porcelain in Japan, distinguished by its variety of shades, the texture and the quality of its materials, not to mention the glaze (enameling) made at 1300°C, the finalization of the coating, polishing and smoothing of the surface.
