When creating the artwork Modest, the artist Nele Serpieters did not have a defined plan. She let the sculpture grow by itself, assembling organic shapes and organising them in such a way that the whole works somewhat alienating. No matter what angle Modest is viewed from, it is never what it seems and makes us reflect about shape and substance, beauty and decay. A smooth bronze surface, flowing organic lines and a grey blue patina contribute to the sculpture's mysterious and intriguing appearance. Limited to 49 pieces.
