This elegant and fun bronze sculpture was made by the Burkinabe artist Hamidou Ouedraogo. Bronze work is a traditional craft in Burkina FasoThe artist first creates a wax sculpture that is covered with a mixture of sand, clay, and manure and then dried. The mold is then baked, the wax melts and escapes through the holes. The molten alloy is cast and takes the place of the wax. Once cooled, the mold is broken in order to extract the sculpture and perform the final finishes. Each piece is therefore unique.
